ED FRINGE SWING CIRCUS SWING DANCE FESTIVAL!!!
Being organised now….One exciting afternoon of workshops and dance classes followed by a lindy hopping jive dance night with plenty of atmosphere and people.
Who are SWING CIRCUS?
Swing Circus have a strong following of hundreds at their parties and festivals which are lead by international standard instructors and teachers of this unique dance discipline from Berlin to Chicago. The visionaries who make the sparks fly to ignite the whole project to its Boom Phase in all its glory are Stephen Salinger and Loz Because
Stephen was a social swing dancer for 7 years in London before moving to Bristol in 2009 to become a full-time circus student. For the next three years he trained in performance, aerial and acrobatics at Circomedia, Aircraft Circus and Kaicetos Circus. At the end of his first year he co-devised a Swing Circus event which attracted 800-1000 people a night for three nights. In his life before circus and dance Stephen has worked for think tanks in London and Washington DC and was one of the early organisers of flash mobs and mobile clubs in London.
Loz discovered circus at the age of 18 in the form of fire performance. She trained obsessively for 6 years in prop manipulation disciplines including hulahooping and juggling. She complemented these skills with extensive dance training including a 2-year Foundation Degree in Dance Theatre and Performance. She discovered swing dancing in 2009 and soon began to integrate it with her performance work. Loz works within the cabaret, street theatre festival circuit and the corporate performance market, also teaching masterclass workshops in how to implement dance stylings into prop manipulation. She has a great deal of experience making shows, devising original material and is totally enthralled by swing dancing and circus.
